Conversion of Bipolar to Total Hip Replacement 53 years old lady presented to us with pain around left hip with difficulty in walking and shortening of left leg. She was operated elsewhere in form of cemented hemiarthoplasty of left hip, done 1 yrs back for fracture of neck femur. Present radio-graphs shows loosening of femur prosthesis with acetabular erosion.

Now she has undergone implant removal and uncemented total hip replacement using full porous coated femoral stem. Implant and previous cement was removed using extended trochanteric osteotomy of left femur. Now patient has been discharged and she is walking comfortably and pain free. Shortening of her left leg has also been corrected.

Revision Total Knee Replacement Facebook case 87 year old gentleman had undergone Total Knee Replacement for both knees 14 years back. Subsequently a revision Total Knee Replacement had been done on right side in 2004 for loose implants.

Now he has presented to us with complains of abnormal mobility of left knee with inability to bear weight on left leg and difficulty in walking. Fresh radiographs and examination were suggestive of loose implants of left Total Knee Replacement(TKR) with bone loss of distal femur. He has been operated for implant removal and revision total knee replacement of left side using stem and wedges for both tibia and femur and trabecular metal block for reconstruction of femoral defect along with LCCK implant. He has been discharged and regained a good pain free and stable range of motion at his left knee. He is also able to walk comfortably

April-2014 :

69 years old gentleman presented to us with pain around right hip with difficulty in walking. He had sustained fracture of right hip 4 years back and was operated at that time (fixation done with plate). The fracture had not united and head of femur has migrated medially. He had undergone total hip replacement with acetabulum reconstruction using Trabecular Metal shell and allogenic bone graft. Now after the surgery, he is able to walk comfortably and shortening of his right leg has also been corrected.

March-2014 :

Complex Intertrochanteric Fracture Puran Chand , 80 years old gentleman presented to us with sudden onset pain around left hip and inability to walk following a fall from bed. He had been operated 3 months back for intertrochanteric fracture femur. Fresh X-ray shows broken screws with displaced fracture and plates. He had undergone revision surgery in form of removal of broken screws and displaced plate and open reduction and fixation with new longer plate has been done. Now patient has become pain free and has been mobilized with the help of walker.

Complex Primary Total Hip Replacement Shiv Charan, 38 years old gentleman presented with complaints of pain in right hip and difficulty in walking for last 2 yrs. He had a history of injury 2 yrs back and sustained fracture neck of femur right side, subsequently for which he was operated elsewhere. He had developed silent infection at operated side after 1st surgery and implant removal was done. Now he has undergone Cemented Total Hip Replacement. He has been discharged and is walking comfortably without limp and pain. His shortening of right leg has also been corrected.
